WAW ep 136 Five Years of Best Culture Solutions

“Five years can teach you a lot, especially when you’re building something from scratch.”

Five years ago, Best Culture Solutions was just an idea that scared me more than I like to admit. I was stepping into something unknown, unsure if anyone would understand what I was trying to build or if it would even work. Looking back now, it’s hard not to smile at how far things have come.

What’s surprised me most is how much the business has evolved. We didn’t follow a rigid plan. We listened. Clients asked questions and opportunities showed up. Slowly, the work became clearer. We moved from helping individuals prepare for interviews to helping organizations hire better, onboard smarter, and create cultures people actually want to stay in.

There have been a few moments along the way that really shaped us. Early recruitment projects proved that hiring the right person changes everything. Building a team reminded me that growth isn’t about doing more myself. It’s about trusting others. And partnerships, especially those rooted in shared values, showed me that business can be both practical and meaningful.

The biggest lesson has been getting comfortable with discomfort. Business doesn’t smooth out over time. You just get better at navigating the ups and downs. You stop panicking over every no and start focusing on building something that lasts.

Five years in, the work is clearer, the mission is stronger, and the focus is sharper. Yet we are still learning, adjusting, and asking better questions.

And honestly, that’s exactly how it should be.
